New Kinross

One of the first domes on Mars. New Kinross housed the first wave of engineers and Trades Guild Members tasked with building the Star Port and Terraformer 1. The dome collapsed due to a structural failure in 2233 and has since become a refuge for several small local gangs.

New Dharavi

New Dharavi, along with its sister domes New Kinross and New Rocinha, was completed in 2125. It is the sole surviving dome of the original three built to house the best and brightest sent from Earth to begin the Great Endeavor of terraforming Mars.

New Rocinha

New Rocinha was built along with its sister domes to house the influx of technicians and engineers sent from Earth. However, it quickly became the cultural center in the early years of Marsport as many of the "original colonists" from the subterranean settlement were forced to move above ground due to seismic activity created by the Terraformer on the plateau. The domes closest to the Star Port fell out of fashion as repairs required too many resources compared to housing their small populations, causing New Rocinha to fall into disrepair by the early 2200s and collapsed in 2240.

Shadowtown

As the name implies, this massive, sprawling shanty constructed from repurposed derelict drop-pods sits in the shadow of three of the larger domes: the Grand Dome, Goatsville, and Roddenberry. Several well-known gangs squabble over the massive slums, and the entire section of the city is best avoided by outsiders unless you are willing to pay the hefty convoy fees extracted by locals for safe passage.

Star Port

Almost 3km end to end, this massive complex of passenger terminals repair facilities and fuel refineries is the sole means of sending and receiving cargo and personnel from off world. Due to the complexity of maintaining and refueling the drop-ships needed to ferry things to and from orbit, it was determined that a single hub facility was the only option to maintain a steady flow of resources.

Chicken Coop

An ancient multi-story office building that once was used as the administration headquarters for the Trades Guild in the early days of the great endeavor, the building fell into disrepair after the collapse of the New Kinross dome. It has had many inhabitants and owners in its long history. The commonly agreed-upon story on the street is that Mother Corey won the building in a Stellar Game from an Earther soldier in the years before the Martian Independence. Few, however, know about the secret hatch in the sub-basement that leads to the original subterranean NASA colony and the network of lava tubes that run deep beneath the city.

Outland

This dome is the most exposed of the 14 remaining in Marsport and lives up to its name. Inhabitants of Outland are known for being standoffish and like to stay out of the machinations of the inner city, preferring instead to focus on their local industries and local issues. Outland produces many of the city's wares and processed food in its industrial district's factory's breweries and processing plants.

Goatsville

The second largest of Marsport's domes, this neighborhood was initially called Greenfield and was designed to house livestock. After a series of environmental system malfunctions in 2155 killed off most animal species, local business owners turned away from farming animals as a food source. Old-timers tell stories of a wild herd of goats that escaped during one of the many incidents, managed to survive, and found their way into the dome's service tunnels, where they would feed off the recyclers in many of the buildings' sub-basements.

Though no one has sighted the animal that gives this dome its new name in many decades, children often claim to hear bleating near the many access hatchways that lead to the tunnels.

Cliffside

Cliffside is the newest of the 14 domes in Marsport. Finished in 2154, the dome was intended to be a research hub, with many buildings designed to house a university and a large central complex of laboratories. After the announcement of Earth's recovery in 2155, the dome was re-zoned for multi-use as it was deemed unnecessary to continue funding non-essential Martian projects. Though today it is home to a broad spectrum of blue-collar and upper-class residents, the elegant and unique architecture of this neighborhood stands out from all the others and gives this dome its unique local flavor.
