New Kinross
One of the first domes on Mars. New Kinross housed the first wave of engineers and Trades Guild Members tasked with building the Star Port and Terraformer 1. The dome collapsed due to a structural failure in 2233 and has since become a refuge for several small local gangs.
New Dharavi
New Dharavi, along with its sister domes New Kinross and New Rocinha, was completed in 2125. It is the sole surviving dome of the original three built to house the best and brightest sent from Earth to begin the Great Endeavor of terraforming Mars.
New Rocinha
New Rocinha was built along with its sister domes to house the influx of technicians and engineers sent from Earth. However, it quickly became the cultural center in the early years of Marsport as many of the "original colonists" from the subterranean settlement were forced to move above ground due to seismic activity created by the Terraformer on the plateau. The domes closest to the Star Port fell out of fashion as repairs required too many resources compared to housing their small populations, causing New Rocinha to fall into disrepair by the early 2200s and collapsed in 2240.
Shadowtown
As the name implies, this massive, sprawling shanty constructed from repurposed derelict drop-pods sits in the shadow of three of the larger domes: the Grand Dome, Goatsville, and Roddenberry. Several well-known gangs squabble over the massive slums, and the entire section of the city is best avoided by outsiders unless you are willing to pay the hefty convoy fees extracted by locals for safe passage.
Star Port
Almost 3km end to end, this massive complex of passenger terminals repair facilities and fuel refineries is the sole means of sending and receiving cargo and personnel from off world. Due to the complexity of maintaining and refueling the drop-ships needed to ferry things to and from orbit, it was determined that a single hub facility was the only option to maintain a steady flow of resources.
Chicken Coop
An ancient multi-story office building that once was used as the administration headquarters for the Trades Guild in the early days of the great endeavor, the building fell into disrepair after the collapse of the New Kinross dome. It has had many inhabitants and owners in its long history. The commonly agreed-upon story on the street is that Mother Corey won the building in a Stellar Game from an Earther soldier in the years before the Martian Independence. Few, however, know about the secret hatch in the sub-basement that leads to the original subterranean NASA colony and the network of lava tubes that run deep beneath the city.
Outland
This dome is the most exposed of the 14 remaining in Marsport and lives up to its name. Inhabitants of Outland are known for being standoffish and like to stay out of the machinations of the inner city, preferring instead to focus on their local industries and local issues. Outland produces many of the city's wares and processed food in its industrial district's factory's breweries and processing plants.
Oasis
Oasis is a particularly rough shanty with a reputation that ensures anyone but locals give it a wide berth. It is one of the few neighborhoods controlled by a single gang. The Dust Ones run Oasis like a private kingdom, protecting locals and making sure rivals know who is running the show.
Rocketville
Rocketville is the oldest of the shanties. As immigration from Earth ramped up in the early 22nd century, the population bloomed. The fields east of the Star Port became a dumping ground for drop pods and shipping containers containing materials for dome construction. Locals soon discovered that the discarded containers, having been hermetically sealed for space travel, could be easily converted into habs, and within several decades, the dumping ground became the first of Marsport's infamous shanty towns.
Roddenberry
The largest of the Storyville domes, it is controlled by The Warhoons and All Moorden, two of the largest gangs in the Big 7 Cartel. Unlike many of their counterparts, they prefer to keep their heavy-handed influence out of view of the dome's diverse population.
Watney
Watney is one of the smallest of the three domes that make up the Storyville cluster. Made up of primarily residential blocks, Watney is home to mostly middle-class residents who prefer the "small dome lifestyle," keeping home and work lives separate and relishing daily commutes to other parts of the city
Verne
One of the two smaller domes in the cluster. This trio of domes, locally known as Storyville, was the first major expansion of Marsport as the Terraforming stations were installed throughout Mars. In their heyday, they were considered the most luxurious and cutting-edge habitats on Mars and were used in promotional campaigns to encourage immigration from Earth.
Fort Necessity
Fort Necessity houses Marsport's entertainment and red light districts. This dome is heavily controlled by the gangs of the Big 7, who run a slew of casinos, nightclubs, and brothels in the neighborhood. Though many of the larger casinos attract higher-end clientele, it's the private back-alley gambling dens where the real action takes place amongst the shadowy power players of Marsport.
Fort Wilderness
Fort Wilderness sits extremely close to the plateau's northern edge, overlooking the Capri Chasm. Built initially to act as an outpost far from the original cluster of domes near Marsport, the city grew to meet this far-flung habitat.
Now it is mostly populated with blue-collar workers who can't afford the higher prices of the inner domes.
Palm Beach Gardens
This shanty's name comes from its proximity to the cliffs overlooking the massive Capri Chasm, once a vast water-filled sea. Being that this shanty would have once been beachfront property earned the neighborhood its moniker, but it is considered one of the poorest regions of the city.
The Grand Dome
The largest dome ever constructed, the population of this single neighborhood is just under 1 million. The dome houses the government of Mars, the massive Trades Guild compound, a business district with 70-story high-rises, and multiple residential blocks with lavish apartment buildings that house the richest and most influential citizens in Marsport. The massive central spire that holds up the dome is two city blocks wide and more than a kilometer tall.
Alesia
The Alesia dome is one of the poorer domes in the city. Its proximity to the edge of the plateau has exposed it to some of the worst dust storms and wear and tear on the superstructure has made it very hard to maintain. The locals of the dome live in constant fear that their habitat may rupture and collapse forcing them out into the wind and sand.
Samarkand
The Huddle
The Huddle is a densely packed shanty in the northeast of the city, very close to the edge of the plateau. Constantly bombarded by wind and dust storms, the roughly constructed buildings are situated in tightly packed groups only a foot or two apart to create a barrier against the harsh weather. Over the years, many of the buildings have been connected by ducts and short tunnels, creating highly intertwined mazelike complexes.
Eastview
South Edge
Goatsville
The second largest of Marsport's domes, this neighborhood was initially called Greenfield and was designed to house livestock. After a series of environmental system malfunctions in 2155 killed off most animal species, local business owners turned away from farming animals as a food source. Old-timers tell stories of a wild herd of goats that escaped during one of the many incidents, managed to survive, and found their way into the dome's service tunnels, where they would feed off the recyclers in many of the buildings' sub-basements.
Though no one has sighted the animal that gives this dome its new name in many decades, children often claim to hear bleating near the many access hatchways that lead to the tunnels.
Cliffside
Cliffside is the newest of the 14 domes in Marsport. Finished in 2154, the dome was intended to be a research hub, with many buildings designed to house a university and a large central complex of laboratories. After the announcement of Earth's recovery in 2155, the dome was re-zoned for multi-use as it was deemed unnecessary to continue funding non-essential Martian projects. Though today it is home to a broad spectrum of blue-collar and upper-class residents, the elegant and unique architecture of this neighborhood stands out from all the others and gives this dome its unique local flavor.
Northside Heights
One of the denser domes in the city, Northside Heights is a working-class neighborhood with several local industries, including one of the largest hospitals in the city. Many local pharmacies in the dome manufacture and distribute pharmaceuticals formulated from base ingredients imported from Earth, including a large black market of locally concocted recreational drugs sold by pushers throughout the city.
Knightsville
It is a neighborhood known for its tight-knit community. It was founded by the survivors of 12 small towns in central Italy who were displaced from their homes during the melt on Earth and decided to immigrate to Mars en masse. The neighborhood still carries an old-world charm, with a plaque on the central spire commemorating the 12 towns that all made the journey to Mars together.
No Name
One of the poorest and most dangerous shanties in the city.
Rand's Tower
Rand's Radio Tower sits on the plateau's edge, overlooking the Capri Chasm and the valley. It was initially constructed as part of the original colony's communication network to other research stations on Mars. It was in bad shape when Rand decided to repair it and set up his radio station. It has since become a fixture of Marsport, from which Rand broadcasts local music, news, and other entertainment to the city's residents, earning him the nickname "The Voice of Marsport."
Terraformer 1
The very first of the massive terraforming stations installed on Mars. These skyscraper-sized machines were transported from Earth in one piece and bore deep into the planet. They utilize the geothermal energy of the planet's iron-rich outer core to generate an artificial magnetosphere and release trapped subsurface water and fluorocarbons into the atmosphere. The electricity the stations generate as a byproduct of the terraforming process is used to power the cities and settlements around the planet.
Farming Enclaves
Farming enclaves on Mars handle food production. These are often made up of networks of tubelike greenhouses that protect carefully cultivated "living soil" that has been purified of the toxic chlorine that permeates the planet's regolith. The major crops of Mars are soy and algae, the most robust and calorie-rich low-water consumption foodstuffs.
Capri Plateau
A massive plateau overlooking the Mariner Valley, the Capri Chasm, and the Ganges Chaos, it was the landing site of the very first colony mission to Mars and has since become home to the largest portion of Mars' population and the center of power for the fledgling Martian Government.
Capri Chasm
The Capri Chasm is the largest known canyon in the solar system. The chasm was carved out of the rock by the water of a vast sea that once filled the massive geological formation.
Ganges Chaos
The Lion's Den
This tightly packed cluster of intertwined buildings is one of the largest of the Huddle's signature complexes. The interior layout is so complex that even many of the residents who live there have trouble navigating within. Because of the protection, the interior layout gives them, the Lion's Den acts as home to several of the larger gangs in the area and has become the makeshift headquarters for the street war being waged against the MPF.

VISUAL GUIDE
Shadowtown
Bryce stands atop the warehouse where she makes her dead drops in Shadowtown. The massive Grand Dome casts its shadow over the shanty, an imposing sight for anyone forced to live on the outside.
The Shanties
Built from derelict drop pods, shipping containers, and scrap, the shanties are the lifeblood of Marsport where more than half of the six million residents carve out lives without the basic comforts of free air, free water, and the safety afforded by the domes.
LIFE IN A RIG
On Mars, your suit and helmet, locally known as a “Rig,” are more than a fashion choice, though many of the upper echelons like to show off their wealth with fancy embellished equipment. When you live on a planet with an atmospheric pressure of less than 1% that of Earth, with constant dust storms that blow toxic chlorine-infused regolith, your choice of clothing is a life-or-death decision.
Terraforming Stations
These colossal terraforming stations, each a marvel of engineering, are strategically positioned around Mars. They are gradually reshaping the planet’s atmosphere and creating an artificial Magnetosphere, a feat that inspires awe.
The electricity they create as a byproduct of the geothermal activity is used to power Mars, and the spires also act as a communication array.
The stations were built by and maintained by the clannish Trades Guild, a monastic order of scientists and engineers founded to oversee the great endeavor.
The Marsport MuniCIPAL POLICE FORCE
The MPF was founded after Mars claimed independence from Earth and was the first local police organization on Mars.
Riddled with corruption from top to bottom, the police run protection rackets that force every officer to pay into a Ponzi scheme of bribes or face severe punishment for not meeting the quotas set by their superiors.
While the majority of the force sees their role as a lucrative opportunity, a select few view it as their civic duty to protect and serve the citizens of Marsport. This stark contrast often leads to tension and conflict within the force.
Gangs of Marsport
From the Big 7 at the top of the pyramid all the way down to the lowest stickup crew, gangs are a way of life for the people of Marsport.
With extravagant monikers like the Warhoons, The Dust Ones, Helium 13, and Ion Lung, every crew is trying to make its mark on the city, squabbling for terf, running rackets and trying to earn respect and carve their name into the history of Mars.
The Big 7
The Big 7 Cartel is the largest and most influential criminal organization on Mars. The cartel is an alliance made up of the seven oldest surviving gangs in the city: The Seven Immortals, All Moorden, Andeli Pakla, Cosa Nuova, Mars Inc., The Warhoons and the Bryant Street Mafia.
The Big 7 inserts itself into every aspect of Marsport. Everything from the food and pharmaceutical industries to the activities in the casino and redlight districts has ties to the cartel. Rumors abound that even Governor Brolin Wayne is a member of this far-reaching organization.
The Mining Camps
After it was declared that Earth’s Biosphere would recover, the opinion on the value of Mars’ Great Endeavor began to falter, and politicians on Earth started questioning the cost of a colony that was no longer needed for the species’ survival.
The United Earth Government made a decisive move to recoup the colossal expense of terraforming. They voted to establish Prison Mining Camps across Mars, a strategic decision to extract the planet’s rare, valuable minerals. This led to a mass exodus of convicts from Earth to Mars.
In the 15 years since Mars claimed its independence, the camps have been populated with prisoners from Marsport and the other city-states to meet the strict export quotas set forth in the Martian Freedom Charter with Earth.
